I looked everywhere and talked to everyone. They all say no, but I think its a case of C.Y.A .(cover your ass) As for the dealer, mine let me roll the cost of it into the truck loan. So I basically have an IOU for one. I hope it comes out soon!

They probably said that because they don't know. '05-'11 have the same engine bay setup. S/C fits all of those the same.

'12, they changed the engine bay and added a new feature from the previous models. And now they have the fit kit for it. Based off of that, I seriously doubt that Toyota changed the engine bay setup again 1 year later for the '13. I would bet that the '12 s/c fits the '13.

I'm mulling over whether to get it myself. My dealer said that they couldn't add in the SC on the deal because Toyota specifically says they're not supposed to add it into the deal at the time of purchase. So it HAD to be after the sale.

Got pricing, they weren't able to beat the kit price from TRDparts4U...but when I showed them the numbers for the whole kit, they said they'd take the $250 difference from the labor charge to install. They said they wouldn't honor the warranty unless it was PURCHASED AND INSTALLED by them. I argued that point saying it should only be the installation--but since they were making an attempt to accommodate me price-wise I told them to give it to me in writing and that I needed some time to come up with the money.

Personally, the truck to ME, doesn't NEED the SC. But I'm sure it's a beast with it on there. Heard the truck can run 12 flat in the QM with one on there.

No way it's running 12 flat without extensive mods. You are looking closer to high 13s with just the supercharger.

Your dealer is screwing with you. I got my 2013 TRD SC online and my dealer installed it and said I had the full warranty since I got it installed by an authorized dealer.

i don't know if it's worth the $ but as a driver i like it, too bad mine trd s/c was leak at the nose drive and need to be rebuilt. now temperature is above 100 and have to wait till it drop to work on the s/c. already got the rebuild kits just waiting for it to cool down. o1 taco limited editions.
for the trd s/c in every 30k miles you must replace the fluid/oil to prolong the life of the s/c. and when it reach 80-150k miles you might consider replacing the coupler, bearings and nose seal to keep this baby to sing the sound you like to hear when you push the gas paddle.

to have it and not to have it it's only an option:D.

I know the dealer is screwing with me. I even told them that they were wrong. I straight told the service manager that I didn't have to buy anything directly from them, and that it was the install by the dealer to assure warranty was retained.

He spouted some other b.s. about a paper trail and then finally gave a quote of $1560 or something for labor. I was said thanks and just walked out. Even at $100 dollars an hour, it doesn't take them 15 hours to put that S/C in. It's scheduled at 6 hrs, but more than likely takes more a long the line of 8 hours taking your time.

So high 13's huh? Shit. That might make it not worth it for me, not for the 5k total investment. I think I'll focus on the other stuff first and paying down the remainder of the loan. Truck seems to do fine getting me around town and it's not a sports car so as long as I'm able to pass the slow assess on the highway I'm fine.

I'll probably get it online after talking to other local dealers first to see what sort of labor rate they'll charge for the install.

My local dealer quoted my a price of $5600 ($4500 parts / $1100 labor). Even if I can negotiate the price to $5000, not sure I can pull the trigger.

trdparts4u is where I bought mine a couple months ago. My local dealer where I purchased my Taco couldn't even come close to their price and there was no sales tax and had free shipping. Was a win, win!

That's what I was pricing it off of, that site. But dealer was saying they wouldn't provide a warranty. Now that I think about it, that have no grounds to do so since TRD says otherwise. They HAVE to provide warranty coverage if its installed by another dealer.

But regardless, I'm going to keep her NA for now.

If it's dealer installed your powertrain stays intact, even if it's not dealer installed your powertrain isn't affected so the rep who told you that is an idiot.

If it's not dealer installed, we get 12 mts or 1 yr on those parts I believe, right? But if it's dealer installed the TRD SC gets the remainder of the 5yr 60k---right?

If it's installed by a certified Toyota dealer you get whatever factory warranty you have remaining as if it came from the factory with the TRD SC installed.

I say remaining only because most of these TRD SC kits are installed a few thousand miles after they are purchased new. Mine had around 4,000 miles when I had them install it.
