    I have only seen it 4x4 and chains once sence I have lived up there so its not a huge concerne 99% of the time you pull up to the chain control and they just wave you thru cause 4x4. You are supost to carry chains even though 4wd but just tell them yes if they ask lol 35 in chain's aint cheap

    I went up the 38 without chains and had to buy them while I was up there. Never saw so many dumbasses in loafers and peacoats on the side of the road.
