I wheel it hard because I bought a truck for that.

I need my sliders and the rest of the armor in because it's getting beat up already...

Hey folks. Picked this up middle of May. Dealer prep was poor- dirty, adhesive lines on panels, engine compartment, wheels dirty....

Silly me expecting a brand new vehicle to be delivered in "clean" condition. I suppose it was dealership "clean", but since I'm a bit OCD, I took the next few weekends to clean and detail it properly.

Started by removing front seats to install Wet Okoles and Weathertech floor liners. With seats out, vacumed interior, wiped everything with a light woolight and water solution, then dried. Applied Poorboys natural look dressing to all plastic + vinyl + leather. Cleaned all windows.
    Reinstalled seats.
    Installed floor liners.

Jacked up, put on axle stands, removed wheels. Washed, dried wheel faces and barrels. Applied 1 coat Ultima Paint Guard Plus (easy wipe-on walk-away sealant). Set wheels aside. Cleaned all wheel arches and suspension components with all-purpose cleaner, dried. Applied Chem Guys undercarraige spray to arches and components.
    Reinstalled wheels.

Washed, dried, clayed entire truck including glass.
Polished whole truck with Porter Cable with Optimum Polish on a finishing pad.
Applied 1 coat Collinite 845 and buffed off.

Following weekend, I cleaned the engine bay with a light all-purpose cleaner with brushes and microfiber towels. Waxed all painted metal with Colli 845. Sprayed CD-2 over whole engine then let it run for 5 minutes. Wiped off excess CD-2.
    Washed truck and wheels again.
Removed wheels again to apply 2nd coat UPGP.
Applied 2nd coat Colli 845 to truck and removed.
    Reinstalled wheels.

Sorry about the long post folks, once I got started, I couldn't stop .

So here's my 09 Mag Gray...

Wow, you really went to town on that! One thing I have that I don't see on your list - I got a couple cans of scotch guard waiting for application. You putting anything on your seats to seal em?

wmb67, that is what I call clean. If you were closer to me, I'd probably pay you to do that to the Expedition. I'm nowhere near that caring even though i love the thing to death.
Damn dude, that thing is just SO DAMN CLEAN!!! You should get a freakin' award!

    Wet Okoles :D.

If I didn't have the seat covers, I would definitely apply some Scotchguard.

Detailing is my little hobby. A couple hours in the driveway is almost like therapy.

It was alot of work, But I hit it hard 3 or 4 Sundays to tighten everything up to a high standard. I paid alot of money for this vehicle and I am damn well going to keep it tip-top

But also, by getting a real solid base of protection on the whole interior/exterior, wheels and engine bay, this will make it soooo much easier to clean up and keep looking great in the future.

Ok, it's finally in the driveway!!! Jesus, 3 hours just to get in and out of there. Paperwork took forever for them to get to me. I had them install the side steps and tailgate extender. Anyways, super excited, but have to wait til Monday to get full insurance, so no driving til then....:( Now, what to do first...........hmmm............ :D

It's a normal (well, a good quality Jack Wolfskin) 3 places tent that I pop and put in the bed. I enter from the sides (there are two vestibules). I need to climb on the tire to get in, but the vestibules give me plenty of dry spare to leave boots and stuff.

    Inside we fit two comfortably.

But I am looking for a camper shell, it's cooler in the morning sun and more waterproof.

My insurance has a 30 day grace period where you're automatically insured on anything new you buy, I think that's pretty standard. Call you 1800 claims number and ask em if you're unsure, but I bet you have the same thing.

Yah, dealer isn't too far away. I doubt I'll do a lift - I'm a 5'6" chic so I'm doing good to get into it now! LOL!
Why do I not have a color-keyed grill thingy? I've seen others that do like Trippin's....Guess that'll be on my list......
