Need help deciding on Icon Stage 1 or 2 lift. Narrowed it down to these two after reading many threads here(actually TW is taking over my life). What is want to achieve is 285/70/17 tires with xd spy wheels(probably with duratracs). My tacoma is 2013 Trd Sport Double Cab and is my daily ride. It wont see much if any offroading, if any. Whats the biggest difference between these kits? Looks like stage 2 has the AAL but and rings up 1944.80 and you can get stage one add the remote resevoir shocks and a AAL and come to 1827.85. Am I missing something? DO I need the remote resevoir shocks(no plans of off roading but I work at floor store and will occasionally have a heavy load of tile in the back will that make a difference) Whats advantages/disadvates to the extended coilovers(no extra charge)? Would i be better off getting stage one with a new leaf pack? Either way I'm going to get a aftermarket UCA

Heres 2 links to toytec. I read some reviews and some people didnt seem to be fans of the service they recieved. Let me know the best place and best service to look(price is important but if a few bucks more for better service im fine with that)

Sorry for all the questions just I think some of you guys really know what your talking about and I a new to the truck seen. Thanks for the help

The remote reservoir is intended for more high speed offroading, where the normal shock's reservoir gets hot. But, if you get the RR (remote reservoir) you have the option to get the CDC valves, (around $100 extra, I believe) to control the firmness of the suspension.

I would contact SDHQ, they are an awesome shop who is very knowledgeable, active, and has everything in stock for what you need. They may even come in here to help you anyway.

A true leaf pack will give you better weight capabilities instead of an AAL, which is mainly used just to lift.

I went with Stage 1 front and non-reservoir rears. Added the Icon AAL a month later. Also running Duratracs.
    The ride is awesome!
The AAL made the rear match the front and is definitely worth adding to the package. No experience with full leafs, at least on a Taco, but the OME leafs on my old XJ were sweet.
Have fun picking what you want.

How big of tires did you put on? Any major rubbing if you went with 285?

Another option you can look into is bilstein 5100's and maxtrac spindles. you should be able to clear 285's with no rubbing

Dang is this true? Don't mind minor trimming but don't want anything major! I'll look into it. Thanks

Sound advice right there ^^^^^^^ especially considering the OP said he is more just looking to clear bigger tires and doesn't do much offroading if any.

It blows my mind how everyone always points to Coilovers. Coilovers used for the purpose of getting lift on a truck that’s 2wd equals FAIL :p

yeah with the spindles you should be able to clear 285 without even trimming at all.

Spindles will get you about 4'' of lift in the front, so you will be sitting high in the front unless you got something like the AP Expedition leaf pack. 285's will also look kind of small with that much lift in the front. Search around for dudes with this setup.

    I didn't recommend spindles because I didn't see he was 2wd.
