    Well to clear this up a female connector is a SO-239 and the male is a PL-259.

    If your going five foot then get a super heavy duty spring. Like one made for oil can or predator antennas. The heavy and medium springs don't cut it. Brady mine is a 5 foot and it is seriously overkill but I needed it to get above my roof. Just trust me go with a 4 foot and a HD spring. The fireflies are super light and will have the most give.

    defiantly get a spring. at 70 mph that thing is at like a 45 degree angle to the bed. it does have mass and a spring will relieve pressure on it and it will also hive it some extra height and make it easier to tune. its cheap insurance while wheeling also

    I was planning to get a spring no matter what, I just don't know if I should get a medium duty or heavy duty.

    It's a skinnier version of the original firestik.
