Lower the PSI in your tires and you can hit that thing at 50 no problem.

Does anyone know if you are able to order just the front shocks and springs or do you have to order the entire package.

i think Brandon had mentioned in another thread that Bilstein will be releasing these on their own later this year.. maybe then but for now its the whole kit.. you could buy it and probably sell the rear shocks in the market

No, you have to buy the whole package.

You can buy a set of "off the shelf" Bilstein 5160s (rears) through the aftermarket, but they won't have the Taco specific valving that TRD supposedly added to the Baja package.

So how does the Baja package compare to the Icon/King/Fox offerings?

Sorry if this has already been answered...

    Cheers,

It is waaay better than Icon, Fox, or King. :p

    Just kidding

This is like asking "What is the best beer?"

If you're looking to run 265 tires, and want your truck to soak up bumps, pot holes, and rough terrain then you should look into this package.

    Advantages:
No aftermarket upper control arms needed
    Bad-ass front and rear shocks
Increased suspension travel in the front and rear
Custom valved specifically for the Taco

    Disadvantages:
You can't brag about what "stage" of suspension you have
It doesn't come with a flat billed hat
285s will rub because you only get about 2" of lift in the front

Brandon, do you have any pictures of the hardware kit or bushings and brackets that came in the bundle? i found a online vendor that will sell the parts individually but these 2 park numbers dont show up.
    PTR13-35120-AD Hardware Kit
    PTR13-35120-AE Bushings and Brackets

I'm trying to find out if those are just parts i can piece together elsewhere. I would probably just buy the front shocks and springs and find some other 2.5" shocks for the rear..

    full list of parts

PTR13-35120-AC Rear Shock does this need 2? http://www.toyotapartszone.com/oem/toyota~trd~susp~kit~left~r~PTR13-35120-AC.html

good find, i have searched several times for the individual parts. i didn't put a calculator to it but it looks like it gets pretty $$$ buying them seperately.

would you come out better buying the kit and then selling the rears for $400?

i didn't get a pic of the hardware kit, but it was in bilstein packaging, if that helps anything. maybe one of the other guys got a pic of it.

it depends on if the rear shocks are 2 in that part number or just 1.. when i look up 5160's normally they go for about $180 a piece.. that part number comes back as normal price $365.13 (which should be for 2 shocks) discounted to $270.. so for everything except the hardware bushings and brackets it comes to just under $1200 shipped.. but if that $270 is just for 1 shock then yeah it would be cheaper buying the bundle and selling the rear shocks

if you can buy the rear shocks for $270/pair, that is a steal!! i would buy a couple of pairs at that price.

i bet they are priced each, but who knows. i have seen new parts mispriced before

Back when the JK Rubicon Jeeps were new, they had the sway bar with the electronic disconnect priced at ~$80. Tons of people jumped on it before Chrysler realized the pricing error, it is now well over $1000

I have a 2013 ACC 6spd Baja and the hood is a measured 2 inches higher than the "stock" 2012 ACC 6spd TRD. Also 2 inches at the wheel well.

Brandon, do you know if the front shocks are rebuildable like the 9100's are?

I'm not sure. You would probably have to give Bilstein a call and ask them directly.

If you do, post up what their response is.

I sent Brandon a PM, but I thought I would post up my question here as well...

I'm considering buying the Baja suspesion for my 2013 DCLB Sport.

My truck has the 4 leaf pack in the back but i'm considering adding a leaf to gain a little bit of hight and a little bit of extra load capacity. Nothing crazy...

Is this possible (or even a good idea) with the Baja suspension?

    Any help is greatly appreicated!

    Cheers,

    Jay

    Jay,

That would be a killer setup if it works for you! DCLB was my 2nd choice but wanted the Baja 1st. This was BEFORE the Baja suspension kit was sold separately. If you pull it off man, I would be über stoked for you lol

the 5160's that are included in the bundle will work with a add a leaf.. I think LoadedTaco has the icon add a leaf on his taco..

Well, I talked to my dealership today and they said they cannot get the TRD Baja suspension :(

Their recommendation was to install the RevTek spacer lift. Total cost including install is $1,100. Say's that's def the most common lift around here... Also the cheapest...

    http://www.revtek.com/toyotasusp.asp#426

But most people don't think too highly of spacer lifts like RevTek.

The one thing I really liked about the Baja is that you didn't really have to worry as much about the little things... Like UCA, CV boot's ripping because the drive axels are off, or Diff drops...

Looking to run 265 GoodYear Duratrac
