    Thought you were playing hooky from work then I remembered you have a 4 day week :cool:

    Any more thoughts on the cabin? I always figure if you can still get a good night's sleep while contemplating a big decision/purchase then you're OK to go ahead with it.

    Hi Lisa, Hi Scott. We went to the log cabin this morning with a friend of mine who is a general contractor. He said the place is done right, top to bottom. I asked him to give an estimate of putting a detached garage up. He sugested using locally grown, roughcut wood for the siding, it makes sense and will go with a log cabin., also will keep the cost fairly reasonable (I hope). When we get the estimate, we will sit down and do the number crunching. If it makes any economic sense, we'll put in an offer. The house is really great, but I can't let that get in the way of common sense. I'm only thinking about moving to reduce or even elliminate the mortgage payments. Really no reason to move and be in the same situation I'm in now. I used to have a fairly well paying job with Dow Chemical, but when they closed, even with a degree, I can't seem to find a job that pays even 2/3's of what I used to earn. With retirement looming, I need to get it right this time around.

    Good!!! Market out here not so good. 8, no make that 9 houses on the market within 1/2 a mile from me. Two were just made into rentals when they didn't sell. One has been on the market well over 6 months and it's not a "junky" house :notsure:

You don't want people shooting at you then don't break into their homes! It wasn't his "ground" to be standing on in the first place! That has got to be one of hte stupidest things I've heard in a while...
