Which is the lighter tire?

    Hey im looking for 285/75/16s. The ones I'm interested in all only come in an E load rating... Which i understand is overkill for these trucks, but I'm wondering which of these 3 would be the lightest and kill my mpg the least. I searched around for a while but does anybody know of anywhere I can look up the weight of a tire by brand and size? Other suggestions welcome. Thanks

    From looks i would say BFG a/t KO. but depending on load ranges and sizes its impossible to say. Are the first ones coopers or toyos?

    What? why are you worried about weight... it should be about performance and ratings. I have sold plenty of tires in all the years of being a mechanic and have never had anyone ask about the weight of the tire. it's usually price and performance for there cars/trucks.

    duratrac by far..but also the softest and worst sidewall...if you dont play on rocks duratracs are great....bfg are 2nd lightest and the stt's are avg m/t tire not really heavy but certainly not light

    Well I've been researching, and considering my driving needs, budget, and overall reviews, these all rank fairly similar performance wise. They're all good tires. I'm not basing my choice based off of weight alone. I'm wondering about weight which plays into mpg and general wear and tear on the vehicle. If you have another tire you'd like to suggest I'm all ears

    Here's a few off the top of my head, Road Venture AT KL78 is Kumho's,
    Rugged Trail T/A is BFGoodrich's, I like the Rangler DuraTrac Goodyear's, might put those on my Taco. not a big fan of cooper.

    It also depends on how you drive, highway, offroad, both, do you change your tires in the winter? there a lot of factors. It does not matter which one you end up with, they are an expensive investment.

    Go to the manufacturer websites. They will have a chart for each tire listing all of the specs by size, including the weight.
