No that's the refresh rate.

The 720p and 1080p is resolution. Or 1080i. 1080p = 1920x1080. 720p = 1200x720 I think...or something..idk. I don't run anything that low anymore

P mean the tv draws a line across the tv one at a time. I goes every other one. P is preferred.

The refresh rate is really only important for 3D stuff.

Or type if tv.

LCDs tend to be nicer for low res stuff like non hd tv or movies. And they work better for gaming.

Plasmas are considered the best for movies as they can reproduce blacks great.

LEDs are know for the real sharp image and colors. But if you don't have HDTV it makes standard look worse. From our experience anyways.

Been a while tho..but between the two hd rvs at my parents the LCD is the most versatile and everything looks good and I used to game with it. It was 120hz

Our led tv looks freaking epic with blue ray. But not as nice as the LCD for other stuff.


Most computer monitors are at 60hz unless they are 3D ones then they are 120hz

Don't need anything really faster then 60hz

 

Ours was a LG 42" for 400ish I believe.

I'm sure you can find em. Is sad the led crazy lately..LEDs aren't even that awesome IMO..yet..will be.

 

Ha ha like hell you don't need a faster refresh rate. There is a huge difference going from 60hz to 120hz to 240hz. A faster refresh rate will have another look to it when it comes to movement. (Some companies are putting out digitally enhanced refresh rates ie ClearMotion 120 on a 60hz. Makes a little difference but not justifiable)

Refresh rate has a lot to do with a clean 3d render but again it goes back to the fluidity of the picture a it moves on the screen.

Most LEDs these days are getting. Really good at reproducing blacks. Samsung and Sony are preference for the best black reproduction. High contrast ratios (actual not dynamic) help this a lot.

LEDs are ligher and consume less power and have extremely clear and deep coloring.

Plasma is for the most part limited to 720p. My buddy has a 720p 50" Panasonic and you have to sit back like 10-15 feet not to see the pixels in the screen.

What I said. No need for high refresh unless 3d..you can't tell the difference of anything over 60hz anyways..not physically possible.

Not a fan of plasmas either.

Walmart has a 42 in Vizeo that is pretty decent for 500.

If you wanna get a little better one you can get a sweet 46in for around 900

I've seen a few in person. And my old roommate had one. Seemed fine.

 

When I was in Japan's tech district I saw a 120" 4k tv for nearly $30,000

But it was fucking ridiculously amazing

 

It I can see the difference between them especially when I am gaming.

Most games only play at 40-60fps..there isn't any difference I think..but 3d big time. But even then only need 120hz. 60hz for each eye.



And I wanna see one if the 20" rvs Toshiba made that's 3d with no glasses

I honestly don't like 3d movies ans stuff unless it's 3d imax or something like that.
