Pretty much 90% of any land that has trees and no gas station is an undeveloped subdivision, just give it time.

Very nice example of a V8 conversion... V8 conversions are actually not uncommon... Definitely more powerful than the rotary would be, but not the same "feel". It's a shame the RX-8 was so damn ugly - I might've dealt with the horrible gas mileage and picked one up if it weren't for that. Something like an old RX-3 would be cool to have, but terribly rare these days.

Current plan, though, is just to get the Miata back together (I've got it apart for bodywork, paint and an interior refresh), then start getting together funds for a new engine. Car has over 200k on it, not sure if the engine is original or not - leaks a tiny bit of oil but it runs great for now as is. Unless I get a wild hair around the time I get ready to start buying for the engine I'm thinking 1.8 stroked to 2.0L with higher compression pistons and individual throttle bodies and a lighter flywheel for decent naturally aspirated power. Turbos and superchargers are nice and would get more power for the money, but there's something "pure" about a naturally aspirated engine on a small light car.

    Aw man. :(

Dude, I know very little about off roading. A lot of it is common sense I guess, but I'm a newbie at this sort of thing.

Oh yeah, some say that having an open rear diff with ebrake is better then having 4x4 locked front and rear...
