I've had my OME coil/strut 3" lift on my '99 going on 4 or 5 years now and they have close to 150k-200k miles on the set. I've been thinking about replacing them because it seems like the ride has just gotten worse, especially off road/dirt roads it beats the hell out of me and the truck! I don't remember it being as bad when I first got the lift or shortly after....although the load range E tires haven't help the situation. I don't off road a lot but my suspension is abused from all the washboard dirt roads I have to ride for work and the truck is my DD along with the truck I work out of.

Would the OME coils/struts wear out in this amount of time given the conditions I have to drive on a daily basis and should I consider replacing them?

I think shocks/struts are usually replaced every 50k miles depending on what you do. It could be more it could be less but from what your saying, I'd say they are toast.

That's how I roll...the 'yota itself has 328k on the clock  :D

So would it be best to replace the whole spring/strut assembly or would just replacing the struts be enough?

Replace the whole damn thing is my opinion. It's done a lot already. Give your truck something new and fresh :D
