Sweet vid Silas. And I never could find any 3.5x3.5 tubing so instead of doing plates on either side of the frame like you did, I bought some 1/4" flat stock today and I'm going to make my own square tubing haha. Made a cardboard hanger to mock up last night.

Did you start with a 3 or 4 pack with your 63's? I'm trying to figure out which leaf to take out since I have a 4 pack. Not sure if I wanna take out the one under the main, or the one under that.

haha :D Your truck will make mince-meat out of that trail, man!! Not sure if you'd make it up the waterfall without a winch.... but I think you have a good chance with your wheelbase.
    Mine started as 3 packs.

I would recommend taking out the shorter leaf of the 4, not the one under the main. Just seems like talking out one of the longer ones weakens the pack a bit, especially if the suspension is articulated or loaded often.

I was thinking the opposite. The whole premise behind the chevy 63 swap is that they are longer therefore softer. So I would think that the shorter leaf would be the stronger one since there is more leverage on the longer one, flexing it easier. I very well could be wrong it's just how I am seeing things.

I'll probably try it both ways because I can and decide from there haha.

They aren't really softer because they are designed for a 1/2 ton truck, we have 1/4 ton trucks lol

    *insert cocaine meme here*
hmm... it's interesting to think about, and I see what you're saying. I just don't like the idea of that main leaf losing direct support along it's length. In terms of the possibility of bending leaves, I think you'd want the extra support further along the main leaf, and closer to the eye's.

Yeah, just try it both ways. :D I've gone from 2 to 3 leaves several times now.... I'm interested to hear what you find as the differences. It's probably not a lot different, but it is essentially changing the spring rate. You got me thinking.

Spring rate all changes too depending on what degree your shackle is at.

Meh they flex good and they ride good so who cares haha.

Haha now you see why I'm thinking about it so much?? I'll probably try it your way first.

These springs are getting flexy-er every day.
