Wow, that does suck. 400 miles and will have a carfax ding. I would have the toyota dealership fix and then not even drive it off the lot. I would just cut your losses now and trade it in for a new clean Tacoma.

I would think that the longer you keep the truck with the carfax ding the less the resale would be because the truck would be depreciating more the older it gets. At least if you trade it In now you haven't had a chance to become too attached to it like I do my vehicles and it hasn't depreciated that much.

All of this is Just my opinion of course as I am pretty OCD about shit like that and also how much damage was incurred.

It really wasn't that bad, just the bumper and a small scuff where the bumper hit the fender. I know what some of you may be thinking... That's nothing! Barely a dent:

It was more emotionally damaging than actual physical damage. Enough to piss me off and cry about it on forums!

*First time trying to upload a pic. So sorry if it doesn't show.

I wouldn't be surprised if the dealer price on a new OE bumper (I certainly wouldn't accept a used part on a truck that new) is around or greater than the price of a nice aftermarket plate bumper. Consider it a gift from the girl's insurance company.

    That sucks.
Guess it's the lens focal length you used, but it sure looks like it's sitting low...

You lucked out. My damage was $3,500. And this was an ex friend backing out of a parking space and hitting the side of my bed.

No worries, I know exactly how you feel. A few days after I got my truck I thought I found scratches on my bumper (yes, scratches) and was freaking out. In retrospect a few scratches aren't a big deal, but it sucks when it's a brand new truck. Anyway, the scratches just ended up being dirt :p

Happened to me too, sideswiped a few days after I bought mine. Use that insurance money on a relentless rear bumper!

    That sucks bro.
Well, it could've been worse. Are you going to have your insurance pay for it?

The only thing that happened to me was one scratch about 6" long when my lady placed her snowboard against my truck and it fell on top of it. Now I look at my truck and I have more scratches than I can count.

    Sorry to hear.

Plate bumpers sounds good for you! :D I guess that's really not bad at all, but I know if it were me and my raggedy-ass truck, I'd be trying to kill people. So I can only imagine how you must feel, with your brand-new baby getting damaged, even so slightly! What a shame. I guess it could be worse though.
