Don't you have an access cab??? Your opinion doesn't matter here!

Besides, you have a 6' box just like the DCLB!

Go LONG BED. I have a short bed, and it's 5 foot length is inconvenient. The extra foot would help alot in hauling things. Aside from the limitations on how much you can haul, the short bed just makes the truck look really out of proportion. If you have a double cab with a short bed (like me), the truck looks like a van with a tiny little extension on the back. Bed length is not the end of the world, though.

Weird that even somebody that had the misfortune of getting a short bed knows it was a mistake and has learned and will never let it happen again. Don't worry the time will come when you want to/have to trade and you can join the LB club. Just think of how good it will feel to just let yourself be happy! All that jealousy that you have built up will be freed!

For the guy who thinks the DCSB looks out of proportion, but the LB isn't, I think the exact opposite. The long bed on a mid sized truck, any manufacturer, looks out of proportion. It don't matter anyway, get what you need/want and love it.

The short bed is a buggy

You should have bought a 4Runner

I thought about it. Could have saved a bundle by buying an older 4runner, but then would have had to buy a trailer too, and would end up having to plan ahead more or make an extra trip after picking up the trailer.

For my needs, the DCSB works great, and I like my 6spd. I usually run out of payload capacity before I run out of ways to fit things in (SB has 100lbs more payload capacity too), the boat or long stuff goes on my rack when needed. Different strokes for different folks, there's merrit to both.

Just bought a DCLB. LB for the fishing rods and gear. Fits much better in the long bed. Fly rod will still have to stick through the back window or I'll tear the rod down.

You'll still need a trailer with that short bed.
And your right landphil, some folks make shorter strokes...

looks like he has a TRD OFF ROAD. so the TRD off road only comes on the DCSB. have to get an AC go get the 6’ bed and the off road package.
I thought about an FJ. we have a trailer already have for 7 or 8 years now.

but went with the DCSB. once a week i put a push mower, back pack blower and weed eater in the bed. some times some bags of dirt and grass seed as well. other then that i’m like you i run out of pay load before i run out of bed space or ways to fit large stuff in the bed, and the real big/heavy stuff just goes on the 7x12’ trailer.
could do the fishing rod holder mod. I’m about to do it. i have a small 5’ rod for trout fishing and it lays down fin, but when i have 2 or 3 others they get kinda tangled up. my big 7’ rod wont lay down good.

    TLDR

Something about needing a trailer if you were unfortunate enough to buy a DCSB

    :notsure:

    TLDR?

If you already have a good size trailer. Also a lot of the stuff that i put on the trailer wont even fit in a 6’ bed.
