Unholy Leaf Spring noise after Ready Lift install

After putting in the leaf spring spacer in my '05 I have this nasty squeak/creak noise in the back suspension - sounds just like my '69 mustang with 40yr old parts. Did I tighten the u-bolts too much or something? Is there anything I can lube back there?

 

Good to know I'm not the only one. Just use standard automotive grease (like the kind you pump into zerk fittings)?

 

I've been battling the noise also. Annoying as hell!

 

No issues with my install. You didn't install the rear spacers upside down did you?

you can get a good dry moly spray lube to spray between the leaves....it'll quieten them down and keep them quiet. and it'll repel dust and stuff from getting in and causing the squeak.

 

Nah I'm pretty sure they're in there correctly, the arch is the same direction as the rest of the leaf springs.

Sorry about the misunderstanding. I thought you were talking about the 1 inch spacer block, not the add a leaf "AAL". Personally, if I was going to take my springs apart to add a leaf, I would look into teflon liners as well as cleaning the rust off the metal. Grease will just wash off eventually and the noise will come back.

I need to do the same, mine are getting annoying as hell.

 

Lowes sell a Dupont Teflon dry film product in spray can that I've used on my M/C chain for last 3 years with great results. The spray should allow you get the product into crevices and once its put on it hardens up enough not to get thrown off and it does not attract dust like grease. Might do the job....
