My thought on this for now, is every preaches it because it's true, but just how many people here have them really? And even then the majority of the offroaders on this forum that actually do have them are members of this thread.

and for the record, I'm not jumping an LT truck, hell I'm not even jumping an MT truck:rolleyes: haha I have the TSB leaf pack in the rear with factory length 5100's... (one of which has been leaking like crazy for months now).

For the guy asking about tires, aren't the BFG All Terrain K/O's a decent tire for the sand? and they don't cost a shit ton of money like those baja's. I don't recommend BFG KM2's for sand though. They dig pretty easily and I pretty much can't move in the sand (even with the rear locker) unless I am in 4wd, then I have no problem moving at all.

Which IMO is even more dangerous...

I would say that alot of people who were riding dirty on hre have for the most part had plans to get a roll cage and have. Have to say not too many people have an end goal of no roll cage. They atleast plan for it.

Projects are good for one thing, A heavy truck hitting rocks/bushes at 90mph and not getting flat. That is the ONLY reason to run them. They have shitty traction, super stiff sidewall so airing down is pointless, they are a purpose built race tire for TROPHY trucks, not street queens

And LOLZ at you guys wanting to run 37s on stock spindles/hubs, I see people posting about having problems with 33's and stock hubs! Not to mention you better have an upgraded rear end for those!

Forgot to mention in the above post that a cage is kind of in the plan, but far down the road. Maybe when it is a bit older and more beat up. I just have a hard time wanting to tear up the nice interior of this rig at the moment. Hell it doesn't even have 25,000 miles on it yet.

So why exactly would Toyota crush it? I would think they would at least put it on a showroom floor somewhere or something...

Its what the do with almost every promo race build after its served its purpose. That Ivan Stewart 4Runner met the same fate along with plenty of other Toyota builds, both trucks were rolled.

It was rolled? He didn't mention that, or I missed it... Guess that would explain why. A rolled truck wouldn't do much good on a showroom floor. haha

so let me get this straight... your hucking a vehicle with just about stock suspension (in shitty condition.. you said ones leaking? you know what that means right?), and saying you don't need a cage because your not MT or LT...
in laymans terms... your pushing a vehicle way beyond its capabilities, but its okay because its not built for what your doing? jumping a truck with full lt but no cage is arguably significantly safer than one like yours... firstly it has more travel and a wider track width to cope with whatever mistakes you might make, and secondly it doesn't bounce your truck back up when you slam down on stock length 5100's and stock bumpstops.
its your truck and your life, do whatever you want. but don't try to rationalize putting yourself in an inherently sketchy situation just because your truck isn't built for it... no on here is saying YOU HAVE TO GET A CAGE! RIGHT NOW! theyre just saying that hucking a truck is inherently sketchy. hucking a truck with basically stock suspension is even sketchier. hucking a truck with basically stock suspension and no cage is ASKING FOR IT. Brian and RJ launch the shit out of their uncaged trucks... but watch the landings... they arent sketchy like yours. they also have double the travel you do front and rear, and a much wider track width.
not trying to bash, but just be careful. and you might want to consider what those rough landings are doing to other components (transmission mounts, motor mounts, etc), and if not now, slowly over time. if you don't want to "tear up the interior of your nice rig", why would you want to beat the piss out of your ungusseted motor mounts, coil buckets, shocks, and everything else? i guess i just don't get it...

and 3500 bucks for tires... wait till you have to work for $$$. 3k= ~300hrs of work, at above minimum wage, BEFORE taxes... say you work 40 hrs a week (all day, 5 days a week), thats almost 2 months of continuous work with no spending... and before you get raped by taxes.

    yall ****** blow my mind
