2004 Tacoma with 3.4 V6, when driving down the road all of a sudden looses power, then after a few seconds will gradually pick back up. Does this quite often. I have read that it could be O2 sensor, if it were that would the check engine light be on?

sounds more like a fuel pump or some kind of fuel issue

It could also be a catalytic converter issue. Sounds a lot like what my 01 did.

I have read that also, but would it not to it when it gets hot if it were the converter? the reason I ask that is, when I started it up Sunday morning to go to Church it fired then immediately died and was hesitate about starting back up.

not necessarily... I had one having pump issues and it was the pump overheating and not pulling fuel as good, and it would run terrible. I could fill it back up with gas and it'd cool off and be fine again until the next time it got hot
