So I had my brakes done less than 10,000 miles ago. I noticed after I had them replaced the truck has been shaking like crazy when I brake. I took it back right afterwards and the stealership said that the brakes were off and needed to be readjusted and charged me about $70 to do it even though I had them done the week prior. Now they are still doing it. Soft braking hard braking doesnt matter. Any ideas.

The dealership said that they put new brakes on the front and rear as I requested but I am wondering if they milled the old ones down and put them back on after which time they warped.

What does your receipt say was done? They can say "we put new brakes on" and they're talking about the pads while at the same time cutting your old rotors. If they charged you for new rotors but cut your old ones I'd be worried.

As for mechanical issues, I would take the truck to a friend who is a mechanic and have him check on it just to give you his observation of what's wrong. Then take that info back to the dealer and raise hell. I see you're driving a 2008 so I'm guessing you're no longer under warranty.

Sounds like they replaced pads but not the rotors. Warped rotors would be my guess.

I have the extended warranty. They claimed it doesnt cover things like my A/C control lights that burnt out. And said they wont cover the brakes at least the last time because I have driven on them.

x2 warped rotors. They are easy to replace, and so are the pads by the way. Look up the write up on here and you will see.

Yep warped rotors... 160 bucks later. They are fine again. The other dealership I paid 600 to replace all four sets of brakes... I guess they took my money cleaned the rear drums and milled the front and screwed me over.

Yea... They were supposed to replace them, after they told me I needed to. I don't go there anymore. I tried to buy my own and have them install, but they said they wouldn't.

    Fuck that, yes you can.

All I can say is I hoped you learned your lesson dude.
Remember, they can't have your business if you don't give them any money. It's as simple as that.

Edit: I thought you said you tried to buy parts from them an install them yourself. Not vice versa.

Nah... I said I will have to check the DIY on here before I need to change them out. That dealership is not getting my business. The one I am going to now is really good. Doesn't seem like a dealership. Been taking the wife's car there for years.

I did my truck and another members for $55 CAD. In just over an hour.

    They both were catastrophically destroyed...but.

I always just do my own brakes, not hard at all. Each time I ditch both the rotors and pads and start new all over again.

Check YouTube. My DIY success rate is way up thanks to YT how-to vids. Rotors and pads are not much more effort than an oil change; just takes a few more wrenches. Drums are a bit more of a PITA.
