guys, i want to get my leafs and new shocks put in thsi weekend... but need u bolts...

where has everyone got their new u bolts from and what did you pay for them ? dealer wants $170 for them haha

 

Got mine from wheelers for $40. Some of the other folks may have some locally on hand you can throw cash at...

Ganna send my coilovers out to DSM today to be rebuilt, ganna go with 650lb 14" king springs to reduce the preload a little (OME 885s are 15.5" 590lbs so i should have less than 1 1/2" of threads showing to match my ride height). Question is...should i have them do custom valving or go with stock icon valving? I want them to ride pretty soft and i would like to be able to stuff the tires more easily than i can now. So you guys that are running Icons, would you change the valving if you could?

I'm happy with mine just the way they came but really don't know any better. I do know I will be putting on the 700 lb springs on like John next spring when I add the weight off the plate bumper and skids.

The shock valving shouldn't effect if you can stuff your front tires much if at all. It's more of a function of the spring rate and how much weight you have on the front end. The shock just controls the rate(speed) of compression/rebound of the spring.

I thought the same thing when I saw it. Even better, if David take a pic of the truck from the front and back. Offset makes it look much better than stock.

True. Last night i asked DSM about a 600lb spring, but they said they wouldn't recommend it. Well, maybe that will give me an excuse to buy some skid plates to add some weight

 

Haha you don't need an excuse. But ya, I think with the 600 lbs you would need a lot more weight up front

Why not get a Monster 696? Better for starting out and far easier to ride that the bag if rice.

 

How much is dsm charging to rebuild ? You shouldn't need to change the valving .
