Alright, been scrounging around the internet to find a way to built a platform to onto my avt trailer so that I can mount the tent onto when the atv's are unloaded. Simple conventional wisdom states build platform out of plywood with 2x4 bracing and then add adjustable legs to outside edges as it will be wider than the trailer is. This would give me a semi roof top tent, folds up, and utilizes my trailer as a porch if you will. I know there are better ways of doing this, give me some ideas that dont involve buying a new set up. I just want to build a modular system to lay onto my car trailer. Tent is 96inches Wide x100 Long and trailer is 80 inch wide x16 foot Long.

Try as you might no conventional tent will be as user friendly and comfy as a designed RTT. But I would look and see about maybe a light metal frame to lighten it up a bit. I think wood would be really heavy with a 2x4 frame. Maybe a metal mesh for the platform if it has braces it will be plenty strong.

Ya, was really just trying to utilize my Pre existing tent and trailer. Wood will be really heavy compared to aluminum bracing. I am also trying to think of a way to mount a RTT tent onto my trailer so that I can still load my quads.

Just build the platform a little taller. RTT's have ladder. Just tall enough to ride a quad under.

Kinda what im thinking man, I could fab something up that way for sure. But man that will get expensive. Plus buying a RTT on top of that. That's why I was trying to find a cheaper way.

Yeah I just bought one so I know what you mean. But I can honestly say it was worth every penny. Hopefully after I sell my house and get another I can build a trailer.

Yeah or just build the platform and wait for the tent and just use it for a storage rack for now. So then it's just the cost of the tent later.

I'm with ya I have a kelty back packing tent, a north face 4 season, and a marmot 4 season. I still bit the bullet on the tepui RTT and It is by far my favorite tent!

    Day 18 juice fast check-in:

    Starting Weight: 290.8
    Current Weight: 267.2
    Previous Weight: 268.2
    Lost since yesterday: 1.0
    Total Weight lost: 23.6

This is probably the most recent picture of me at the Klan rally. This picture probably made me look better than I was as I generally looked much fatter:

    IMAG1373_1_f007895481c7968a1a1b57e510bf4d83cccdebc1.jpg

In addition to this before I found another picture I took when the Heat won the finals and then the one that I took today to send to my buddy. This probably illustrates the weight loss a little bit better.
