Haha I live right by the way we so it's more cloudy/foggy than it is sunny on most days.

Definitely keep you in mind when I'm in The Bay. I actually am up there pretty frequently, but usually take my other vehicle not the Tacoma lol. Lived in SF for 6 years....miss it!

Got the TRD short shifter in today finally...it's been sitting in my garage in its box for almost 3 weeks now lol.

Definitely tightens up all the slack with the sloppy factory shifter. It makes shifting bearable now. I HATED how long the throws were on the stock stick. Reverse is a little tighter to get into, but nothing crazy tight like the URD short shifter.

It was just a little over $300 to my door. Got it from TRDParts4u.com. It ain't the cheapest, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

All 6sp Tacomas need to come with this from the factory! The stock shifter is terrible! Like having a row boat lol.

    I'm in slo! :)

The TRD shifter should not void warranty at all....especially since you can order brand new Tacomas with the TRD shifter installed before you even take it home.

Sold the TRD catback to a friend, and decided to do a little something different.... :D

I got the front pipe of a URD Mk2 3" catback and had my muffler guy create a custom full 3" turndown exhaust dumping right before the rear axle.

Being that this exhaust would be a full 3" to turndown, I opted for the biggest canister I could fit----chose a Magnaflow #12579. Canister is 5" thick, 11" wide, 22" long. Center inlet/center outlet. I had him put a 4" turndown to keep the tone as deep as possible

Freaking LOVE how this thing sounds. Very little drone---not anymore than the TRD Catback. It's louder than the TRD Catback but only in the way that its a lot more deep and throaty. At WOT, it sounds beefy! Best part, it's only loud when I want it to be loud. At idle, it's actually quieter than the TRD catback.

I'll try to get video clips up on Youtube asap.

Bob @ Mom's Muffler in Paso. One of the few guys I trust around here to do exhaust work. Very knowledgeable.

Lmao.... Bob is a great guy. I worked next door for a while, and always bullshitted with Randy and Bob when he was there. I still swing by to talk to Bob. When I was working next door, Bob was running the atascadero shop on his own and Randy was running the Paso shop.

Had my entire maxima exhaust tabbed by Randy years ago...... Bob installed my chokemaster and then my magnaflow.

Today I hit up Kevin at rock solid.... He reworked the urd exhaust so I can now run my spare where it belongs instead of my truck bed.

bob may not recognize the name, but he knows my face.

Joe Plumm over at lube n go is a good guy to deal with also.... Very trustworthy and smart.

Dang you had fitment issues with the Mk2 around the spare tire?

I'm glad I just bought the front pipe. Just preparing for future suspension work in the back in so that's why I've run turndowns on all my Tacos.

Yeah Bob's done all my Taco exhausts. I wish he still did header work. Jason @ Dean's Performance & Muffler in Grover does great work with 1GRFE shorty header installs.

I have Couple others with the same exact fitment issues..... May be fine for the xrunner guys, but I could not get the spare on with it.... I posted some pics in the thread above.
Nice to know about deans.... I almost got shorties and was gunna ask lemons if they could make a jig..... I installed the alarm at lemons and Dan is a great guy too..... He was willing to make a header for my celica waaaay back then.

Wow I had no idea that was a problem! They should really make a Prerunner/4x4 specific version of the tailpipe section if that's the case.....or at least put in bold letters on the website that there may be spare tire fitment issues. Glad you got that worked out.

You still interested in getting your URD fuel pump/filter upgrade kit installed? My friend just text me back today saying to give you his #. I can PM you if you want it. He's game to install it for you.
