Yes it does, no matter how little you have deployed (you). MREs are a great thing to have around in case of emergencies

All i'm saying is, Its gotta be a life or death situation to NEED the Convenience of MRE's, Don't gotta be a dick man just having a normal people conversation. Im hearing everyones opinion MRE's are exactly what they are made for, quick convenient so-so meals.

So where's all the napkins, utensils, toilet paper, chewing gum, etc? That can takes up too much space. MRE's are pretty much perfectly square and compacted.

Me and Haslefre must be close to death everytime we go camping then cause I know I gobble those things up when I camp.

But I agree...can't argue with a brick wall, wasn't even back for an hour before things started blowing up again.

You don't understand, you don't know that you have 5, 10, or even an hour to eat each day. Absolutely NOTHING always goes to plan. It has nothing to do with having the best and tastiest food. It's about being prepared for anything and getting enough calories and nutrients to keep you going.

If I'm deployed and having to stand my ground in some hole or cave, the last thing I want to have to worry about is spending 10 minutes making my food versus spending maybe 30 seconds throwing it in the bag and heating it up while I attempt to defend myself.

I don't know where you're getting the idea of it being a so-so meal. Very few actually taste bad, I only remember one ever being widely known as the one not to eat, the egg omelet haha

If you are in the military and expect to eat a nice gourmet meal while deployed, you don't need to be in the military haha

...Okay first of all Chewing gum? Very far from necessity. Im not a brick wall, I agree if we are talking like...minimal time and effort then yah MREs are exactly what you need, But if you have 10 minutes and can carry five pounds of gear then there is something better. LOL Napkins AND toilet Paper... Wait a second.

Why would you bring MRE's camping?! Theres shit out there that allow SO MUCH BETTER hell killing your own and searing it over a fire would be a better choice in my opinion... Maybe i just like good cooked meats a little to much?

Yes, chewing gum. Most have caffeine in them to give you a slight boost. Again you do not know how much time you have, you can't predict something like that. Hence the need for MRE's. If you don't understand that, then there is no point in having this conversation. :)

They are GREAT for camping. Take minimal space and has everything you need in it to cook. It's the simplicity of it that makes it so appealing. I still don't understand what makes you think they taste so bad. I'm not going to bring a steak or something camping. I tend to bring lunch meat, hot dogs, maybe hamburgers.

The chewing gum is for oral hygiene so you don't have to carry toothbrush and toothpaste.

5 pounds of gear? Do you think they carry fanny packs?

THE MRES ive had arent good enough for me to sacrifice the ability for so much more camping, So lets RECAP!

MRE's in a military combat sitaution, Perfect easy and portible.

MRE's when you go camping... Thats like just beatinf yourself up for no reason. Bring a goddamn ice chest and a some brats and dogs and lunch meat and its like you never left home!!!

Dude you need to chill the fuck out you have been back for an hour and are argueing like a little kid, MREs are delicious and pack a power house of healthy shit in them, camping isn't in a camper and in the ac it's In a tent and in the wilderness, do you wanna make a mess and attract animals while cooking food or eat an MRE. Your choice of argueing with people who use MREs all the time is worthless and a one ended road

You and I obviously have two different ideas of camping. MRE's are very simple, why not use them? There are some times that I don't want to get a fire going and cook the food and have to prepare everything. Also, what if you are where there is suddenly a fire ban? Without lunch meat or something like MRE's you are out of luck. And if you are at a primitive camping site that's 30 miles from the nearest town, I really don't feel like driving all the way to town.

Okay, I'm done. This is a lost cause, you obviously will argue anything into the ground just to say you're right, as everybody else is saying.

    End MRE discussion. :)

Do people read?! First of all NOT AN ARGUEMENT, Just trying to figure out why you would need to bring MREs camping... I go camping for the experience and food and shooting... Im not there to live like im some MIA soldier.

Ive agreed with PCbuilder just trying to understand why you would bring MREs camping, all im doing is having a conversation everyone else is getting there panties in a wad about MREs.

    Lets agree to disagree.

MREs in a combat sitaution, Perfect and exactly what they were made for.

MREs in a camping situation, Some weird depraving experience of sorts lol.
