Guys name there trucks...do you have a name for yours?

 

Thanks! I'm really happy with the turn out. I think that the bedliner will be best for me with how much I use the truck as an actual truck. I was going to take it off this weekend and start on it. is spray on or roll on better? i used spray on on my door jams because my spurs from riding were scratching it bare. only did 2 coats and its held up pretty well but I'm not sure how it would do on a bumper or if I would just need to do more coats?

I have been looking more and more into lifts, that's the next big thing. (hopefully will have it on by September as a birthday present to myself haha) I was thinking about the RCD 4-5" lift. Ive heard a lot of good things from some friends who have that lift.

 

haha there was a 5 year old boy who named it but i cant remember what he named it he named both of my trucks one day haha he named my other one grizzly haha he said because its loud but I cant remember what my taco got named though

 

Mine is a spray on... just remember to prep the surface.

The RCD 4-5" is a biggish lift and expensive since you have to change the steering geometry. On top of that you'll have to get 36" tires to fill the wheel wells.

 

Yeah, My one friend who has a DCLB runs 35s on his with this lift and it looks perfect. I drove it a couple times and its awesome. I would be willing to fork out the cash for it if its worth it. So far I think it is but that could all change if I found something else I do like having a taller truck for some things I do even though its less convenient in other ways. There are just so many options its hard to narrow it down. Once I find something I like something else comes around the corner but I guess that's the fun in it!

 

While running 35's would be sweet I'm okay with 33's. I have to look somewhat classy when I see customers.

Add skids, sliders and better tires and you'll have a pretty capable rig, add a winch and you can go on solo runs (not recommended for beginners), also what bumper is that?

 

Sliders are in the making/planning now the plate part of the bumper was a weld together from NW trail innovations but we had to make quite a few changes and we made the bars. I am going to get fender flares now because the bumper sticks out pretty far on the sides. Haven't looked much into skids but its been on my mind to look into them. Any suggestions on where to get them or how to make them? Bigger tires and an actual lift are coming in a couple months and the winch as well. I do go out alone sometimes when I'm bored but nothing too crazy as I don't have the gear to save myself... yet

 

Heh, well I'd take some equipment if you are going solo often. I've ordered skids from pelfreybilt twice and he makes some stout stuff but it comes at a cost. As far as making your own it would be best to find a local shop with a CNC machine / plasma cutter and make them out of 3/16" steel. I opted out of that, the vendors that make skids take all the guess work out and everything just bolts right up, looks great, and can take a beating.

 

Yeah, I got lucky and have a friend who has a shop they build a lot of racecars, and buggies and have all the bar and tools to do pretty much anything. They are who helped me with the bumper. They are pretty awesome and do some awesome work and they are having fun with helping me with my truck, maybe a little too much fun haha I'm in no huge rush to get everything done, they just kinda work on stuff when they have time so it works out for me

I finally put on the pink shackles hehe I have gotten sooo much crap for it so far, which is just all the more reason to keep them! I decided I didn't like the way the paint turned out on the bumper so off it came and I prepped it and sprayed it with a couple coats of bed liner. I like it so much more!

I decided my next purchase is going to be tires in a couple weeks. I just cant decide what I want. going back and forth between duratracs and the cooper ST maxx. Also I am going to buy some fender flares to flush up the bumper and make it look cleaner. I don't like how the wings stick out so far on the side, and the easiest way to make it flush up will be the flares. I'm going to wait to put them on until I get the new tires. The small tires now would just look ridiculous.

Also I'm thinking of painting my wheels. They have so many rock chips and are in pretty bad shape looks wise. Anyone have any suggestions about that? I don't really want to spend the money or time to have them powder coated since they will probably just get chipped up again in no time with the places that I go. Painting them seems like it would be pretty simple??

 

Sand them & rattle can, or derp them since its an easy touch up. The more stuff that pisses people off, the more I would add also the duratracs have really good reviews on here.

 

haha I know I think its funny how offended people have been about the pink, all the more reason to keep it and put more on just cant figure out where I could add any since I debadged it. Otherwise those probably would have been pink.

Does the derp hold up okay on wheels? I thought about that too but was gonna look it up today.

Ive heard some really good things about the duratracs and was leaning more towards them. I havent seen too much about the coopers. Ive had good luck with coopers on past rigs but might want to try something new.
