I've always gotten 100K out of iridium plugs. And the 4 cylinders do come from the factory with Iridium Plugs and synthetic oil.

I don't think there is a blanket policy on which ones come with Zerk Fittings as my 2012 Prerunner has factory Zerk fittings in the U Joints...

Parts don't get use to the fluid... Lubrication helps maintaining the condition of the moving parts together... If you change the oil and you start having problems, than your parts are worned out and you need to replace them... It means something is terribly wrong :p

I would rather change oil seals and bearing on a gearbox instead of changing the shafts and the gears after 60 more k's... I prefer fixing stuff than having a quick patch which would make it worse later on :)

I use Silicone Spray in the pivot points on all bushings upper and lower control arms and the stabilizer bar.

... Maybe that's because they didn't flush their diff for so long?

If someone hadn't changed their engine oil in 20k, would you advise they never change the engine oil again? If they changed it after 30k of no oil changes, and then it died, would you say "It must have died because you changed the oil"?

Not if he has a 2.7
    Getting close though.
Iridium ARE stock on the 4-cylinder, and 100k is fine.
Platinum is good for 60k, copper at 30k.

    +10,000

There are a lot of myths out there, some of which may have had a partial truth 40 years ago.

Wow.... I've never seen a diff with buildup in between the teeth, and if you did.... Your diff would have blown up already. Gears are at tight tolerances which won't allow for the buildup.

You don't flush the diff. You change the oil.

Oil is a lubricant. It lubricates to dissipate heat and reduce friction.
    Not having enough oil
    Water in the oil
    Dirty oil
    Old oil (broken down)
All of the above will promote heat & friction which wears the gear teeth creating gear slop. Too much gear slope can result in breaking teeth. When you break a tooth on your ring or pinion.... You'll know it immediately = hence = blowing up your diff.

But hey... Whatever you want to believe. I would NEVER recommend anyone not to change their oil.
