i still like to get far away and in the hardway.

here is a 9 day trip waay back there. i rediscovered my love of backpacking. so much i have a $800 pack ordered and being built for me. hahah. i ordered it the day after i got back from my trip. my current pack doesnt really fit me that well.

truck camping is okay, but not roughing it enough.

rectangular bags are getting to be more and more rare...

I have a Coleman brand bag with synthetic fill that I've used for over 12 years and hasn't started to show any signs of wear. It wasn't that expensive and I've definitely gotten my money's worth out of it. If they still build them as tough you won't be disappointed.
I bought a Marmot brand bag with synthetic fill this year (the Coleman bag is a -10* and the Marmot is a +15* rating) and I love it too. Especially the zipper...SO SMOOTH! Marmot only makes mummy bags though.
I've heard good things about the Cabela's brand too though I can't speak for them personally.

There are a few out there I was looking into big agnes until I realized you had to buy a $100 pad just to use the damn thing wtf?

I really hate mummy bags, my feet/legs be needing room:D And I'm a hot sleeper, the window in my room stays open all year, though it hardly ever gets freezing here.

I'll have to check those out.

    Cool thanks.

I'll check those out also thanks.

I've seen those but not really my thing, I'd be ripping them off ALL night, I'm not a gentle sleeper:D

I like the idea of this "hybrid" bag (this) since it has the roominess of a rectangular bag but it seems like it would hold in the heat around your head better.

Went on a 4 day pack trip this last weekend. 4 days, 25.04 miles, and 7595' elevation GAIN. Here's a couple pics. They have been a little "tweeked" haha.
