I was thinking about running doug thorley shorties (since the long tube aren't street legal), a magnaflow high-flow cat, and I have the TRD cat back (which I am pretty surprised that I like). I was thinking about replacing the y-pipe as well but I haven't found many available. i'm opening up the exhaust for any future silliness I might order from the TRD shop.... I'm just curious what other people are running. I've got the K&N CAI running under the hood as well.

I did my taco a little different cause i like noise

But i did a cat delete, so i took off 2 of the 4 cats, which i late found out i think were just resonators, and then i Y piped to a flowmaster 40 series and dumped it right before the axil

It sounds amazing, little throaty and loud , and WOT sounds badass

Iirc u have Apr, urd, and Doug thorley available for y pipes.

Apr is supposed to be less rasp than the urd.

Keep in mind that its said quite often here that chokemaster kills HP.... And some of them drone like hell.

Can't speak for cats.... Mine are in the corner of the garage.

    As for intakes

U 2012 & 2013 guys can use the afe stage 2 si, urd tcai, and I think there's another one for you.

theres a stock Y pipe after both cats on either side, well when i removed those, i had to make a new Y pipe to go into a 40 series

Low end no, top end though it feels more responsive

If traction control is off i can still get the tires to chirp

Beware u can open things up to a point where u do notice some low end tq loss.
I can't tell u what did this exactly because I installed long tubes, y pipe, and a 3" exhaust at the same time. Entirely catless

    And raspy as fawk

It would be the 3inch exhaust, the long tubes are just for better flow, but the bigger pipes reduced your back pressure, which results in torque loss

    thanks for the info!

i'm aiming at putting a SC on at some point in the next few months (maybe a Christmas gift to myself since i can't buy a mini-gun), which is why i'm trying to open it up. i think doing the headers and y-pipe is my next upgrade, i love the throaty sounds but don't want it too loud because I drive long distances often and don't like having my ears buzzed the whole time.

Then stick with high flow cats, I live in flagstaff, and when i travel to the valley i get a lot of in cabin noise.

Also make sure the pipe exit and muffler itself is as far back if you dont want inside noise

With a super charger, getting the air out as fast possible isnt as essential as a turbo, yeah theres quicker and higher combustion, but the power gain is from the super charger quickening the cylinder cycle speed, where as a turbo pumps air in quicker which its best to get air out quicker, the super charger just speeds up the engine essentially.
