    Figure I'll ask this here too, to get the opinions of youse....

    BFG ATs 32x11.5 r15s versus 31x10.5 r15s

    1998 3.4L 5-speed manual TRD, stock 4.10 gears, 170,000 miles on stock suspension.

    My 31x10.5 r15s might be prorated under Discount Tire's warranty and currently the pricing for new tires looks like this:

    31x10.5 r15: $185 ea

    32x11.5 r15: $165 ea

    I am wondering if I will notice a significant loss of power stepping up to the 32s? Looks like the 31s weight 43 lbs ea and the 32s weigh 47 lbs ea.

    Also, will I see a significant drop in fuel economy adding that much more friction and weight per tire?

    Lastly... I know 32x11.5s will fit on a stock Tacoma... but what about a stock Tacoma will a saggy suspension?

    Normally I'd say from all the threads I've read about the same subject, you wouldn't really notice a difference in mpg from 31x10.5 to 32x11.5.. But with you and your meticulous mpg averages that are rounded to the nearest thousandth.. I may have to reconsider haha. I've been wondering the same thing on both accounts. I doubt 32's will fit with our saggy suspension.

    Yeah I'm not worried if it's a 1-2 mpg drop in economy.

    I'm more worried about a significant loss of power.

    Don't want to feel bogged down all the time. Especially since I drive up mountain passes a lot.

    Probably wont see a huge difference in power. Probably a little difference in mpg. And I have the saggiest suspension I have ever seen and my 31's rub on the pinch. My wheels have low back spacing though. They didn't rub on stock wheels but it was damn close.

    I don't remember any exact threads but man I've read up plenty on this and everything I read said that you won't notice any power loss just going to 32's. I never remember seeing anybody saying they noticed power loss.. but then again I don't have first hand experience either so.. take it with a grain of salt

    Yeah I think the BFG 32s are actually 31.6"

    That said the 31s are technically 30.6"

    Haha I'm not lying about my suspension! I have 233,000 miles on my truck. On flat ground before I trimmed and hammered I rubbed the pinch. Even after I hammered some of the pinch back and trimmed the fender liner I still rub when I am close to full lock and hit a bump. It's sad, I know.

    I don't have a pic of the tire rubbing but I do have one of my pinch after I worked on it a bit.
