    I'd agree this is best bang for buck.

    Dry Cells are nice offroad because even if you crack the casing they'll still function to get you back to civilization. Wet cells, not so much, hence the popularity of dual setups.

    Still doesn't solve discharge problems though. Dual Dry cells would be the ultimate offroad setup.
