I've had tacoma with a Toyota upgrade alarm that would not crank or any of the accessories would come on. It had a bad pin fit where the alarm connected in between the ignition switch and the trucks wiring harness

Its not the factory alarm. Its got nothing to do with the package or trim level. People are reaching for stupid excuses.

Water in the gas could cause this. Probably not the problem either. Sounds like an ecu problem or something wrong with the ignition system itself.

That's how that tacoma was the but I don't remember correctly if it stalled on him or it wouldn't start and I wasn't able to duplicate it until it came back about two weeks later and it wouldn't start. So no dtcs like a p1603 or 1605, which are engine stall or rough idle codes.

How's it working out for you? I just got my 2013 and so far everything is right as rain, but I've only got 1800 miles on it, and another stretch of Afghanistan before I see her again.

I had a 99 f250 that would sputter and die for no reason - even while driving in a few cases. The Ford mechanics never could figure it out. I started replacing electrical components after she sat for an 8 month deployment, starting with the battery. When she wouldn't start with a new battery, I moved to the alternator, which ended up being the problem and had no problems after that. It wasn't throwing any codes or signs, which is probably why the mechanics missed it.

All Yota Trucks are assembled in San Antonio with crowd-sourced parts.

Hasn't every tacoma been assembled in North America? Didn't the Fremont plant built the first Tacomas.

Mexico and Texas are the #1 locations. Of course Mexico is part of NA.. lol

Check the first number of your vin, it will tell you where yours was built, mine was Mexico which is where they are cranking out the '13s in the highest numbers so I have heard.

Fremont and Mexico were the two assembly locations since 2005. In 2010, GM pulled out of the 50/50 Fremont venture amid its bankruptcy, so Toyota also pulled out and moved Tacoma production to San Antonio (where Tundras are built).

A portion of the Fremont site now builds Teslas.

Doublecab Tacomas are the only models sold in the US that are currently made in Mexico. A good portion of the beds are made in Mexico.
There was a sort time during the Fremont/San Antonio transition that other body styles were made in Mexico.

Beds have always been largely sourced from Mexico. I remember driving up I-5 to my company's San Jose office, I was always passing trucks carrying Tacoma beds north to Fremont.

I dont know the non-fleet statistics, but it seems like Dc's make up the majority of trucks I see. Reg Cab sells an asston fleet though.

Ya, now that the long bed is out, I'm seeing more and more DCs all the time.

But I'd still say that the majority that I see out here and along the 210/134 are Access Cabs.
