We just got this Tacoma in the shop. I forgot to take a picture before the bed came off but the bumper was pushed down until it was underneath the truck. The bed itself was all bent out of shape and the flares must have popped off. The grill was knocked out of shape and a head light was popped out.

Any ways here is what the frame looked like at the back. The damage on the frame continued all the way up past the gas tank just before the cab.

    photo18_d0cecb32e952f53327bc287dc83e23cd7b2b5ed9.jpgphoto17_b39a858921fea252a364c25cc1b6e1e39371003c.jpg

The truck took a hell of a hit and every one walked away which is nice to see. It's pretty certainly going to be written off it pretty much needs an entirely new frame and the price of that and the labour would probably put it over. I'll probably post a few more pictures after work tomorrow.

We usually just get the aftermath and have to deal with it. Especially when its towed in like the truck was. The only time we get the full story is if they have to come get things out of the vehicle.

The hit was fairly low on the truck though and it was bone stock so I'm gonna hazard a guess that it was a small car.

Good to see tacomas are built well enough to take a hit like that and not serious injuries to passengers.

Keep us updated, I for one would like to know if that is salvageable or a total loss.

I hear they don't salt the roads in Vancouver. Makes all the difference.

The crumple zone is designed into the frame in the rear. Better a bent frame than a broken neck I suppose. The car that hit it probably got totaled, too.

They salt and sand in BC , it just doesn't get super cold in Vancouver , so less quantity
