Ken I know you are making a point but bankruptcy is not the same as asking for a bailout from the feds or state. The feds will come in and sell off all city assets to raise money to pay off creditors.

The current mayor and state appointed city manager feel that this is a Detroit problem brought on by themselves and do no want the state or the feds to give them money to fix the problems.

A lot of the city will be lost to probably 10 cents on the dollar. A lot of cultural heritage will be lost in the process as well. Anything the city owns will probably be up for sale. The problem has been 50 years in the making and did not happen overnight. Nothing but tough times ahead for Detroit, citizens of Detroit, current city employees and retired former city employees.

Back off my soap box. Just think if this happened to your city and how it would affect you.

In some way you know it will happen. Any state that have anyone living on a Detroit pensioner will get some money as well.

The really big challenge for Detroit will be what to do with all the vacant space.

Getting there. Certainly put a dent in them!
I got it at a local Tractor Supply store. Any agriculture supply store might have it, like Agway.
Think it was about $12.00 for the bag.
Better buy 2 bags, it says you should put 1/4 C in a drink and live to be 100!
Might be a good thing to put it in your morning coffee! :D
I know a guy that mixed baking soda in water, and drank that everyday. :notsure:

Have a Tractor Supply right down the road ~ 2 miles.

I'll pass on drinking/eating it... Tell you what, you try it first ;)

    Morning all:
:( Just ordered fuel oil. It should be going down, but it's going up!
Beginning of the month it was $3.06-mid month $3.16-now $3.30.
    Prepay was $3.40.
Figured I better fill up before it goes past the prepay price.
They are also predicting $4.00 a gal. gas, AGAIN!
Supposedly related to the corn price to make the ethanol.
WELL, THERE AINT NO DARN ETHENOL IN HOME HEATING OIL-YET! :crapstorm:

I am not a fan of ethanol either Carl. Most states want to raise the % from 10% to 15%. I cannot see the value in ethanol in that you get crappier gas mileage with it and it might lead to earlier seal deterioration.

Leaving for Italy in a few hours. :woot::woot::woot:

    :woot:ENJOY!!!!

Someone's not having a good day at the local lake that I fish for Walleyes.
Early this morning they found an empty boat. Search and rescue/recovery going on right now. Don't look good! :(

Update: They found the body, but are not releasing the name yet.
Just also saw on the local news that 2 people have drowned in the Delaware river, at one of the places that we launch.
