I tried to install some 17 in. steel pro comp rims with a back spacing of 4.50 and they did not fit. Will 4.50 back space aluminum rims fit or will I have to go with 4.75 backspacing. Any suggestions?

Where was the Pro Comp wheel hitting? More backspacing = wheel is pushed inward, resulting in less clearance with suspension, but more clearance with the fender flare at full lock.

The only steel wheel that fits will most likely be Wheeler's steel wheels. With steel wheels, it's more about the design of the wheel than the actual backspacing.

With alloy wheels, anything from 5.5" to 4.0" will work depending on your tire size choice, lift, and preferred stance.
