Was off-roading lightly on some trails out here very easy terrain. Came up on a rock that was a foot and a half tall, flexed out on it and got out to look and there was oil all over my left rear wheel wheel and my leafs coming from my shock. Looks like it is looking out the top by the fitting to the reservoir.

Contacted Headstrong Offroad and they are getting me in touch with Icon to hopefully get it fixed.

I have a couple of theories, 1) when you stuffed that assembly into the fender the tire could've bumped the resi fitting. 2) the shock might have to be rotated counter clock wise in order to clear the shock mount when the shock is fully compressed and flexes a bit...truly speculating by looking at your pic. It does look like you might have to rebuild or replace that shock if it spilled its guts out. Good luck sir!

I have a leaking rear Icon shock too. I have maybe 100-200 miles on a stage 4 Icon suspension that I put on my 2013 DC TRD OR truck. I have a total of 1800 miles on this truck and have never been off road. Here is a picture of the leaking shock and one of the non-leaking shock on the other side.

Agree that is probably an install concern of how the shock is positioned and it loosened the rezzy hose or fitting during the big bump.

Pretty straight forward and easy to fix. Shouldn't even need seals.

The other guys truck looks like it did have a seal failure. It does happen on occasion for new parts.

All my experiences so far with ICON have been top notch and miles above every time I have dealt with Fox.

I agree, I have an Icon suspension on my 2010 FJ Cruiser and it has performed perfectly under all conditions for over two years. Sometimes shit happens even to good stuff. I am just glad I noticed before I got myself in the 'way back'.

I had one that had a leak when I installed my icons. They were purchased through metal tech 4x4. Metal tech got a hold of icon and icon sent me new one and I sent the leaking one back. Problem solved!

Your case looks be that one in a 1000 that just plain has a defect. Could be the seal or it could be a nick on the shaft that occurred after the shock was assembled (if it was dry in the box). Anyway you are going to be doing the warranty thing. They are a reputable firm and will most likely take care of you.

The OP might have an "installation caused" issue, can't tell, but I bet Icon will take care of it. All that and I hate Icon.
