So I got to thinking, what's the difference between washing my Tacoma (and rinsing it) with water from the hose compared to your truck getting hit by a sprinkler?

I've always heard that getting your vehicle hit by sprinklers is bad for the paint, but is it really any different than the water that comes from the hose?

    Please enlighten me. :)

My sprinkler water is irrigation water that comes from a canal open to the elements. It is filthy water comprised of contaminants and things that make your paint a very sad camper.

    That's a good point.

Can anyone in Arizona chime in? It seems like all the water is ran through outside canals...

Arizona has very hard water. If you have a reverse osmosis system, that will take the hard elements out of the water..
I wash my truck at a self service, because they seem to have a pretty good filter system.
