For the first time since all of this began, Michele was able to be awake enough to talk. She realized that she may not be walking out of this room.
There is so much to do and plan for that my head is spinning, I don't mean to be morbid. But I need to face that what will happen will happen.
She did not have her MRI last night, I guess doctors keep banker hours unless they are here.
Michele is still resting comfortable, only needing a morphine shot every 6 hours.
I am praying that some sort of treatment will start soon so we can see what kind of effect it is having. This waiting is so tough, many, many hours of just sitting trying not to think the worst.

I've been hesitant to ask; I don't know why, but do you know what type of leukemia it is? I've been trying to research--I'm an English teacher, it's what we do in times of crisis, we look for information that might help. I've found several types and most have a pretty high survivor rate, but I don't know what kind she has.
You are not being morbid; you are planning for all contingencies. There is nothing wrong with multiple tactical plans. The operative word here is "may." She also may walk out of that room after successful treatment. You are doing the best that you can under horrible circumstances--be proud of yourself for keeping it together most of the time, but don't bottle everything up inside either. We are here for you always if you need to let out the frustration and anger and sadness. :)

Never met you Bill, but I think I know what you're going through. Stay strong for your kids, but it doesn't hurt to let it all out every so often.

Good luck, and I hope you can find some strength from your friends on TW.

dang...my heart goes out to you. You sound like you are doing very well considering the situation. Spend every moment you can with Michele and let her know it's ok. You and the girls will be fine. It's not her fault. Love her up.

My father-in-law passed almost a year ago to kidney cancer...I can somewhat understand what you are going through. Not a pleasant thing to have to go through. You'll be a better, stronger person for it. Hang in there and keep us posted when you can.:(
