Yay! Today is my Friday :D

Went out to start my truck....fucking battery is dead. Had to jump it a couple days ago after I got back from vacation. Just figured it hadnt been started in a while so it must have just ran out of juice. Today it almost had enough but just dead enough not to start. Looks like I need a new battery

Cool thanks. I was going to get input on a good battery but havent really looked into it yet. Not too stoked about forking money out for a battery right now

Sears Diehard platinum gets real good reviews. It is essentially an odesy with a different sticker and half the price. Great warranty too. Just don't go through el Cajon sears. They screwed me over for 3 days getting mine.

Seems kind of pricey to me for an 05' its probably 9 years old at this point..
If it were me I would get a 1st gen at half the price, but thats my .02. Since pretty much everybody here has a 2nd gen they may not share my opinion, haha.

Yeah new batt time, once your battery goes completely dead it will never fuly charge again, you lose anywhere from 10% to 30% when it fully dies due to phosophate buildup on the lead plates, sometimes you can take the battery out and drop it on the ground from about 3+ feet (if it doesnt break the casing) in order to break off some of the phosphate from the plates.

Thats your lesson for the day kids!

Well, if it was me paying for it i'd get a 01-04 DC 4x4 TRD, but since it's a family deal(i can choose any car i want up to a certain price), i'd like to go with a newer, bigger vehicle. (05-08, DCSB, TRD sport, 4x4, with less then 135,000 miles)

120k miles on an '06 for 20k? They're clearly trying to get as much as they can from the little bit of aftermarket crap on it.

If I was spending 15 plus I would want a 2nd gen also. But if you like that style 91k is tempting.

Honestly, if I was buying a first gen as a beater...there's no way id spend more than, say, 12 for it. Find a beat up, under 100k miles, lowball the crap out of them...and then dump a bunch of money into it.

That low of miles is tempting, someone the 30 and younger thread just linked a 04 just like that one with 60k miles, it seems that there are more low mileage 1st gens then 2nd.
