IIRC, you need to compress the shock or let the nitro out and recharge.

Its way easier, but only do that if you can get a nitro recharge. i wouldnt drive on no nitro.

disconnect the top bolt, put a ratchet strap around the shock..have a buddy in the bed on push down on the shock while you ratchet and bam it stays compressed. That is how I compressed my charged 18s

alright so i was able to compress my shock. im on bumps now...if i take the rear shackle off...i should be able to bend the leafs up and then put the bash plates on along with ubolts..right? then just put the shackle back on.

What does compressing the shock have to do with getting the center pin lined up on the axle?

the shock wont let the rear move freely enough to separate the axle housing from the leaf pack. at least thats what happened this last weekend while we were trying to change a pin.

NVM dont listen to me. I really dont know what the hell leafs are anyways.

But if i had to guess i would put the stands under your frame and lower the axle into place while pulling the leaf into position.

I've only done one leaf swap. So im not a real authority to be listening to, but just trying to remember what we did when we did it. we had the stands under the frame. and the jack under the pumpkin. You should be able to lower the pumpkin down far enough and push the spring with the shock collapsed into position.

    holy shit devin.

get you high lift and jack it up from the rear bumper so that you can attach the leafs to the shackles. once its connected from the front hanger and rear shackle (axle still should on the ground) just lift it even more to where the leafs sit right under the axle. after that see if you can center the axle on the leafs. its a PITA but it worked with mine.
