    The biggest problem for me is my receiver hitch. My spare is way tighter against it than the little brackets.

    I took off my hitch when I installed my tube bumper way before I had 285s so that's probably why I can make it fit. Definitely not the best spot for a spare once you go over 32" tires, especially significantly wider tires than stock.

    Leave the ends of the legs (that get welded to the plates) unpainted before you weld them on.

    Then paint them afterwards.

    Sorry if that's insulting and you knew that already.

    I did know that already, but it wasn't insulting at all.

    I'm painting just the actual sliders, then once they're welded on I'm going to cover the underside of the ruck with plastic and just throw some paint on them. I probably won't even put primer on that part of it.
