i found some bucket seats from a 97 4runner sr5. Will they fit my 04 taco?

is there a website or book that lists parts interchangeability between 4runners/tacomas or tacomas and other styles?

    Thanks!

Hard to say. Worst case would be to swap the mounts from your truck to the new seats. Some minor welding may be needed if they dont bolt right up.

I think they are the same, but have a different track.

No - 4Runner and Tacoma seats are different.

    1996 - 2002 4Runner buckets will line up 3 out of 4 bolt holes if transplanted into a 1995.5 - 2004 Tacoma.

The only seats that bolt into a 1995.5 - 2004 Tacoma 'as is' are Tacoma seats from the same period.

Thats what I thought, and why I suggested the seat traks not fitting....Do you kknow if the tracks/ mounts from the Tacoma can be bolted onto the 4runner seats?

Pre-2005 Tacoma seats don't have 'modular' bases. The mounts are integral parts of the seat frame assembly. So there's nothing that can be unbolted from the OEM seats and transplanted.

If you're willing to sacrifice the OEM seats you can cut off the OEM mounting frame / brackets and weld them onto either (a) the new seats or (b) separate custom frame pieces.

The '96 - '02 4Runner seats have similar 'legs' / 'tabs' to the OEM Taco seats. These can be bent / modified to make the 4Runner seats mount up in the Tacoma.

i think i'll just keep the bench. if i put buckets in there'd be a need for a console. then i'd have to get some of those $300 wet okele seat covers, then....well you get the point. thanks for the info guys.
