VSC Got Me! (I think...)

Oh yeah! I just love all this new "safety" technology!

 

Soo.. off is when the button is held done for around 3 seconds correct and do you have to do it every time you start the truck?

 

Correct and yes , it's just part of my start up routine now

I have 07 truck with no VSC and I dotn have problem

VSC + lift + twist = bad idea. Iv'e had several experiences with the VSC. Even with VSC recalibrated, it does not like lifts and twist and will engage. I installed a switch disable for the VSC/ABS for this exact reason.

 

Mine has been for over a year

 

True, and was purchased in 2006 so has been paid off for some time already. I would get newer one but dont want VSC junk.

Well, when I'm in the position to take tight curves on a wet, narrow road...I'll just temporarily disable the bad boy. I'm happy as long as I know it's working correctly. If it's a tolerance issue that cannot be remedied, I'll adjust accordingly...and ensure the wife does the same.

im gonna jump on the ABS killswitch train here..

i did it about 2 years ago after having the same issues.. VSC kicking in turning corners and accidentally jumping a curb leaving a driveway..

did the mod.. and havent looked back. only thing is.. its now all or nothin. which is fine for me. when it rains or driving in snow.. i simply flip the switch and al the traction aids come back. when its dry and or im on dirt or wanting to have some fun.. flip it off. it does in turn make the truck a one tire fire tho.

 

I think the switch is the only way to go with VSC issues with a lift.

 

Interesting , I would be turning VSC and especially ABS off in snow , not on

 

Snow & ice is the time I see people spinning in circles on the freeway and sliding past stop signs. Isn't snow & ice basically exactly the sort of situations ABS & VSC were intended for?

If you're plowing through deep snow I agree- I am thinking of lightly plowed roads, not snowfields and drifts.

It has saved me in a few instances. When it first rains and the roads are slippery with the oil.. its nice. keeps the one tire from just spinning and spinning when leaving from a stop. Same with snow.

And when I meant snow.. I mean the slush on the roads and freeways.. I think it helps more than not in wet/snow conditions. In deep snow.. definitely seems to be the opposite affect. I just ingage 4hi at that point. In dirt.. that's another story and completely useless imo. Hence why I dis the mod and disable it.

 

I have an 07 with VSC and a 2" lift and don't have the problem... never been recalibrated.
