Rock sliders look good and they prevent door dings.

All kidding aside, this is very good practice for having teenage children. Buy older cars, the kind that don't need collision or comprehensive insurance. The stories I could tell...

Teenage children?? In the two years I've had my license my mother has hit/backed into at least 5 things while driving either the Taco or the pilot. I've remained accident free except for the scratch that my jean button left while I was leaning over to grab something from the bed.

    Must come with age :D

My mother is terrible with cars as well, she also backed into our power pole in Florida with the brand new car. had been there for 11 years.

I was going to suggest running boards, I always buy them as they are a lot cheaper than the dings they stop but after reading posts they don't work in your case. If this happens in garage you could try to hang or suspend a buffer, think swimming pool noodle or padded roll of some sort. Obviously need to get in right place to block properly to protect. If that won't work cut noodle or insulation rolls and secure to her doors, may stop dents on non husbands vehicles that are probably less understanding as that could get expensive. Curious as to damages she does to others in parking lots, etc. Only fair for her to assume responsibilty if she does to others what she does to you truck.

Does your wife like to shop or spend money on herself? I'm guessing so! Make her pay the repair bill for your truck and until they are paid off she can't spend any money on what she wants.

You think you got it bad. My mom was backing out of the driveway and ran her entire car, sideview mirror to rear door, down the length of my dads Tacoma passenger bedside. Her sideview mirror exploding into shrapnel was the moment she finally realized what happened...that was a fun morning before high school.
