Idaho BS thread in the PNW

The bilsteins are a standby fix so I can do an AAL or extended shackles or both. Also thinking about shock relocation.

I think I need to learn to weld.

The wheelers alcan 8-leaf springs give about 2.25" of lift, empty bed. YMMV

 

Get a welder and start. Not super hard.

How long are they? 10"

I'd do both really. Shackles for droop and AAL for weight capacity.

The one reason I love my linked rear end. I have some more things I am going to be dpi g to get some more flex, but I am going to run into the issue of coils length

 

The 5125s are 9.5" travel.

Shackles are an easy swap. Probably start there and see what I get. Definitely don't want your stink bug look. But a slight rake when empty would be OK. And if the Foxes still work in the stock location, ... sweet.

 

The foxes will work with a 1" lift shackle..but you won't gain any gains in droop without longer shocks.

 

Well points for ingenuity. Buddy of mine found a use for the stock bottle jack.

 

I would definitely flex it out with the forklift again just to see what is what. Last time I did I could almost get to the bumps and there was an inch of up travel left in the foxes. I'm guessing that using the forklift I can now probably get there.

what do you guys think, about me running stock shackles but swapping to wheel?

I have my AP shackles sitting there......but i dont need more rake..

Compress to the bumps? I'd hope so..I'm talking droop though.

Horrible idea. Snapping shackles ain't a walk in the park.


Think about it. When the truck is just sitting there the leafs are slightly compressed and the shackles are at around 45* with out the shackles the leafs curl back up. Yu have to pull the leafs back down to get them to line up with eh shackles. It's a bitch. Takes an hour.

Not a good idea.

Those are OME. Toytechs aren't grease able. Mine arent.

You just need some weight to justify the lift.
