VSC Got Me! (I think...)

This just gets better and better! So the ABS kill mod with warranty loss is the only way I'll be able to keep my new Tacoma from killing me?

 

If the light came back off at 30mph , you didn't have it turned off properly

 

Not to mention liability should your "mod" result in death, injury or damage.

I'm pretty sure that would be on Toyota.

 

But is your yaw rate large in that pic? He's saying VSC comes back on.

 

I'm refering to the ABS disable mod. You modify any safety system and it's on you.

 

Interesting Oz.. I've always heard it CAN be completely turned off.. but for me, it seemed to always "lurk" and would kick in. Maybe it is due to the yaw rate? Regardless, it made me still do the abs mod, but, if I could have in fact turned it off 100%, I would have just done that.

 

It will kick on if you are about to roll over

The " off " mode just means the sensitivity is greatly reduced

Point is , if the light goes out at 30 mph , you didn't have it off

EDIT : I just realized in the last few posts I said the light coming ON at 30 mph , when I meant going OFF at 30 mph , sorry for any confusion

 

Exactly. My '12 will do the same. 55MPH, VSC off no problem. But it's still lurking in the background.. Promote any slight manuver that triggers a VSC reaction, as the OP describes, and viola! VSC comes back on.

OK , this thread is a mess now

Let me clarify what I'm saying

Stop , push and hold the VSC button for 3-5 seconds , the AUTO LSD light and VSC light will illuminate , keep holding till the AUTO LSD light goes out leaving only the VSC OFF light lit

This is VSC OFF mode

The VSC OFF light will stay lit above 30 mph , it does not turn off like when you just push the VSC button

The VSC system always lurks in the background even in VSC OFF mode , but in VSC OFF mode the sensitivity is greatly reduced

VSC can engage in VSC OFF mode but generally does not

The only time I've had VSC engage in VSC OFF mode is fishtailing on snow

 

Not me - If I turn it off, I want it to stay off.
