I know I stop trying to fight auto correct. Some days I'm just to lazy to fix it. :D

BHA AH AHA HAHA, i get the same way. trying to click that damn small X sucks

    whatcha get at MP?

question for you since you bottled so much beer in your day, im worried that the Coors screw top bottles might not create the best seal for the capping system i have. the bottles are water tight im just worried that in the bottle conditioning process to carbonate them that the cap will blow off and create a mess in my basement

Thoughts? and have you used screw top bottles with the red handled capper before?

I would not use screw top bottles for homebrew. The lip is usually thinner and can break more easily, seal is not great either so you run the risk of the beer running flat or worse becoming oxidized.

i might have wasted about 8 to 12 beers on screw top bottles then. we will see if they get carbonation in a week or two.

I was trying my best to drink 54 beers in a couple weeks, had to get a 20 pack of coors and just started pounding em back, went to bottle last night and noticed that the screw top bottles dont seem to seat the cap quite the same

lesson learned for next time though!!!!!

Yeah I went to do your brew in westy and bought a bunch of bottles. I have the same capper you have.

look on craigslist for bottles. I picked up 5 cases for 15 bucks (so about $0.12 per bottle). The guy I bought them from had 27 cases to offload since he was getting out of the homebrew hobby.

edit: if those screw top bottles will hold the pressure and carb, drink em first as they probably won't last as long as the crimp top bottles.

Thanks for the incite guys!!!! Im gonna let the screw top bottles ride it out and good thought on drinking them first. I was considering buying other bottles and transferring but figured that would do more harm then just letting them be in the screw tops. It tasted pretty interesting last night, im hoping the flavor develops in the next 2 weeks once carbonated and ready to drink.

Sounds like we need to have a TW shoot meet, and a TW brew day!!!

    Hmmm... Sounds fun!

I may or may not be designing a custom gravity fed brew stand/system at the moment... :spy:

It's on my future list along with the keezer. Just not any room for that with the current house. Will probably be a couple years before we buy a new house though.

Cool - some homebrew-club types look down their noses at keg people. Beer hipsters, I guess. :) And great score on the kegs, PS78 - good kegs are getting harder to find! The first time I did a transfer to a sanitized keg versus a boatload of bottles, I was hooked - so much easier.

those homebrew club types can look down their noses at me all they want, they just wont get any of my brew!!!!!:D and i wont be hanging out with any of those types anyways ha ha ha i am a member of the AHA though, great discounts and i hit up a lot of breweries

so now my mission is to buy a fridge that i can convert to a kegorator, get a co2 system and then brew my next batch which will be Legend Brewing co Brown ale. For a while im going to stick to extract methods though!!!

    Fellas,

I'm making a Bevmo run tonight after work and I've pretty much run the gauntlet through San Diego-based IPAs.

Any IPAs from the great state of Colorado you guys recommend, and could potentially be available for purchase at Bevmo?

Can't wait to visit Denver in August. I miss that place so much.

I haven't purchased anything from craftbeerkings.com yet, also haven't checked out Plaza Market. Haha

I'll see if they have Modus Hoperandi! I'm staying in Glendale (same city I used to live in), so I'm going to stop by the local King Soopers on Leetsdale to see its craft brew selection. I remember them having a decent selection?

If staying in Glendale, might as well just go downtown to the Argonaut. The grocery stores here I think only have 3.2 beer.
