Turns out, all I had to do was bitch about the weather enough and it gave me a few hours of sunlight... but made sure to include some nice wind...

Anyway, I did some derpage on my stock wheels. First time messing with Plasti-Dip, I'll probably have to peel and re-do in a few months, but it passes the "looks good when I point it out to the cute chick while inside the bar" test.

^ I need to do this... that's all we have here in Florida is standing water...

Thought I'd plug in my OBDII bluetooth dongle and grab my old Android phone and see what my gas mileage was after wrapping my 16" wheels with some 285/75 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's :)

Was pushing nearly 24mpg on average with the street wheels and Michellins just a hair over stock size. Completely different story with these tires

they'll stay on until our little rainy season is over, then it's back to the pavement pounders

    WP_20130719_005_1b661289b22d0ad75c50578ccf52232306ceb3e5.jpg

and, although not a Toyota, at work, after my Chevy Blazer work ride decided to do this last week...

    WP_20130719_003_818b116672a5ec5596aaa69085e7281ad69e663b.jpg

I hopped in this and claimed it :D Got it all set up today as my new ride, only thing left to do is build a laptop stand in it and wire in my power distribution block and switches for the power inverter for the laptop, drill battery charger, and CB radio

AC's colder than the Blazer was, gets WAY better gas mileage than the Blazer (measured in days between fillups, considering I'm in the truck with it running pretty much a full 8 hours a day; it is my mobile office, I'm always in it), plus is a little smaller and more nimble ;)

I replaced a tail light fixture that I broke a few weeks ago backing into a metal rail at the transfer station.

keep an eye on those things

I made a "custom" led brake light and turn signal light setup out of 4 of those strips on my old 91 Toyota Pickup, and after being in the sun for only a couple months they started yellowing, half the LED's stopped working, they starting falling off, I eventually just ripped them all off after only having them on for only a few months...

my opinion, those strips are best used for interior or accent lighting...

or custom PC lights, that's where the last red LED half of a strip I had that still worked ended up, LOL

Re-coated the nether regions with some Fluid Film and (recently) Bed Armored the rear bumper. Seems to be a lot of mixed reviews on rattle can bed lining but i'm pleased with the end result. Also a major pain in the ass trying to re install the bumper alone.

That bumper looks sweet with the coating. I am wanting to plasti-dip my badges, do you guys use the spray can or the "dip your pliers in the can" stuff?

Yeah I saw it a while back. I was wondering if that's what you did. I should have applied that stuff before I did my install. Now I'm paying the consequences. Although it doesn't bother me that much. I don't even hear it all of the time. With the TRD exhaust and radio going and all.

Just a cheap $25 one off eBay. Actually my second one. First one lasted about 3 years and then wouldn't connect to anything. Update speed's not the fastest but it gets the job done. $25 for the dongle and $5 for the app is cheaper than any handheld OBDII scanner anyway though lol
