Those quad carbs are no fun . If you end up doing the work . Setup a big table and keep everything organized. Also looks like you got a aftermarket exhaust . Check to make sure they jetted the carb with the right jets . That could make it run like shit too. Get the tools for the cables like mike said . And you will need a sync tool too .

Trail gear sliders would cost only a bit more. besides weighing about 6x more than a normal slider. I used 2x6-3/16ths for the rear bumper I made and it had to weigh 90+Lbs, before I added hoops and the tire carrier. Besides if your using 2x6 and you angle it at all its going to be like boatside's...(maybe your onto something). I would use 1x1-3/16ths and make something that looked like a traditional slider for looks and strength.

Im really contemplating getting weld on DOM sliders to replace my bolt-on's because I don't like where the front mounts on mine... If you plan on using the trailgear tcase skid/xmember don't mount you slider frame plate in front of the stock xmember.

 Sorry, I thought you were talking cost. That's freakin heavy for sliders. I think the pair of mine don't even weigh as much as one of yours. Mock them up first to make sure you like the look of that big honkin chunk of steel hanging out from below the cab.

Alex just invest in these tools because being your first bike you'll have another soon enough.

When I did my twin carbs it was a royal bitch to sync them. One is bigger than the other ones a primary and the other is a secondary so there was a little tweaking. I now have an idle adjustment on the side that control both carb idle circuits. On hot days it idles high so I just adjust on the fly. Carb work is time consuming but super easy and I enjoy it on small engines. I just rebuilt a 1400CFM Holley for a friend F THAT

I think I'm gonna get a second set off eBay if mine are indeed gummed up, and I'll have the shop rebuild and tune them. The spare set of carbs is only like $90 on eBay so whatever.

I really think that there is just a little bit of gunk in there, and hopefully the carb cleaner will get them running right!

I'll start by draining the old gas and refilling with 91 octane and a good amount of carb cleaner. Let it idle/rev it with that and see what happens.

I think the bike was jetted properly for this exhaust too by the way

Hey Alex, we have to talk. I have a buddy who's a cycle mechanic. Works on all sorts of engines. Works cheap. Quality work. Last time I had my carbs cleaned, jetted and synchro'd plus exhaust cost me $300 from another guy about 10 yrs ago. That was a good price back then I thought. Will talk in Pa. Happy for you bro.
