Just curious what your thoughts are. Have most of you hung on to the factory liner or have you swapped it out for something more permanent?

I ask because I am looking at a 2012 T and there already looks like early signs of rust where the cab meets the bed (underneath). Minor but it's still a concern.

    Thanks

The 2nd gens have a composite bed so adding a plastic liner to protect plastic doesn't make much sense

Oops - ever one to get away  ?...Then let me ask this; are there factory drain holes at the corner/corners where the bed meets the cab? The pics that a sales guy sent me shows at least one but we're not sure if these are factory or drilled out by the first owner.

    Thanks

Yes 3 drain holes at the end nearest the can. They are rather small but still drain decently.

You should look at a bed mat or something. The composite bed is slick as ice. I would imagine no one makes a drop in liner for 2nd gens anyway...I'm too lazy to google.

I meant cab not can. I apparently can't edit my post using full site on my iPhone.

Edit: nvm now I can lol...it didn't load full page for some dumb reason.

Any issues with rust at the drain holes when viewed from underneath?

    Thanks Jimmy!

If you are talking about the frame, the drain holes are not over top of it, so not really an issue there. If not, there is no steel in the bed just composite.

The outside holes drip water on my frame. I made some nylon plugs and plugged them up.

That's odd. My drain holes are about 1 5/16" outboard of my frame.

Yeah, its not straight down, but I have water stains all over my frame. My tailgate is right under the edge of my carport, and when it rains my bed catches a lot of water. It eventually leaves a big puddle in my garage. Plus the water all over the frame.
Also, the AC drips right onto the frame as well, and I was getting water stains from that too. I ended up extending the hose with a bend so it drip right down to the ground.

If you don't want water from the bed dripping down onto the rear frame rails, get a camper shell.
