I think you're right on the name of the show. Not sure why I thought it was American Brewery earlier.

Fuck Jax! We used to go there a LOT before Sandy Hook. They took a pretty big voluntary stand against alleged assault rifles, evil black guns and all related gear though and I haven't been in since. If a store can't stand for my rights then I don't give them my business.

Haha I've been thinking about the mods long before I even had one :anonymous: I even picked up a banana mag for it before July 1st knowing I wanted one lol

    Thanks!

Yeah they make a bunch of crazy ones. The one store had a red/black and a pink/black one. The purple/black is pretty cool and so was the red/black...but then the neon green ones are like eek!

I thought about getting the red one but I can put the extra $60 on the price toward the blue one eventually.

Yeah, that's a pretty common attitude I've seen to their 'new' policy.

Sucks for the guys behind the counter, though, none of whom agreed with the change, and all of whom are suffering because of it. They run probably the most honest used counter in town, good reloading stuff, and were price competitive to boot. Still are, but with a lot less variety.

I dunno - I guess I'm old enough that I don't buy in to automatic 'fuck those guys' boycotts, because that stuff just screws innocent people. I don't blame anybody that does, though.

I'll reply to that last statement with this one: If I worked there when they made this stand against freedom I'd find another place to work for the exact same reasons. At some point in life you have to take a stand for what's right. Too few people think that way these days and is part of why we're in the situation we're in and headed for the situation we're headed towards seemingly w/o much push-back.

Fair enough - some of the counter guys work do regular retail stuff at Jax too (one of the guys sold me some approach shoes a few weeks ago, in fact.) Not always possible for some people to just up and quit with the employment prospects, but neither should one work for an employer they can't stand. Different standards for different people.

I guess I'm leery of boycotts in general. With Jax, I'd rather the owner know that a law-abiding citizen who likes to buy gear locally is a valuable thing to have. I feel like saying 'I respect your decision, but here's why it's wrong' has a better chance of furthering RKBA than saying 'fuck you, buddy' does. Maybe I should take the guy shooting with stuff I bought at his store years ago - a day at the range is the best medicine for antis that I know of. :)

I never said anywhere in my post that people should immediately quit as they would be irresponsible but I also wouldn't criticize someone for making that decision and can respect someone who stands for their beliefs in this day and age. What I said was if I were an employee of Jax or any other business that took a hardline stand against something that is completely legal based on a bunch of misinformation and helping to perpetuate that misinformation I would find another place to work. I don't work there so my choice is far easier though. Every day people make decisions where to shop and where to not shop for far less important reasons than this so I don't understand why my choice to not shop there for reasons I consider important don't count.

Businesses only understand one thing... the bottom line. If stopping the sale of these items affects their bottom line they will have no choice other than to return to business as usual. If they think these rifles are so evil that they're willing to lose money to keep from selling them then it's not a business I want to give my money to anyway. Either way doesn't matter to me. Choosing to not support business that doesn't support you is the best way to speak your mind on business policy. Just like I don't shop at Jarred Jewelers or any other business that sees me as an evil creature because I choose to protect myself from violent criminals. You can keep holding onto the idea that you're going to take the owner of Jax to the range for a fun day of fact sharing but I'll keep my solutions firmly planted in reality.

Best part about living in a free country is you're free to do it your way, and I'm free to do it mine. I think we've got the same goal in mind, and I hope we get there in the end.

So, trucks. Was thinking of heading to do some Elks fourteeners, and was wondering if Pearl Pass was something doable by a stock Taco? I'm bone stock save for 235s, but the 4x4 all checks out and was thinking of doing a run. Thoughts?

Yay my lightbar came today too. Is the top part in the pic supposed to be bent? Now I have to figure out how to actually mount lights to it.

Sorry it turned the wrong way.

I had to change the picture because the previous one I took I had a bag of catnip in the background and it looked like weed LOL
