    Hi, new guy here.
My 06 Tacoma had the maintenance light come on. I put the OBDII scanner on it and it showed no codes, I with through the MIL's and the only thing it would show was evap not ready. It also said the light was off, which I found odd as it was on. I had this problem with my mazda and it was a gas cap, but I could kill the light with my scanner. Any suggestions on what I may be doing oddly?
    any input is appreciated.
    Cheers,
    FGO

    Oil change time. Reset light.

Welcome to TW, if it's the maintenance light that's your oil change reminder every 5K miles, you can reset it by turning on the key and hold the trip odometer until it flashes back to no ----- dash marks on the display, if it's check engine light then it would be something else, hope that helps.

Just changed the oil 2K ago, I will try the trip odo trick. It is odd as I have been able to reset the maintenance light with my scanner at past maintenance intervals when I did the work myself. I also recall having my oil changed and service done and the mechanic did something behind the glove box, does that ring any bells or is my age addled memory
    Thanks for the input
    Cheers,

Are you sure you weren't resetting the check engine light and not the maintenance light? The mechanic was just trying to see if you had your ganja stashed back there.

Thanks folks, it was my mazda Miata that had a reset behind the glove box, I tried the odo reset and light was cleared! Cool forum, thanks for rookie questions.
    Cheers,
