KM2's

 

Toyo Open Country MT. One of the only tires with a 3 ply sidewall. Just pick one up and you can immediately feel how dense it is. Never had a puncture yet. You can run them at very low pressure. They ride good and my last set lasted 80k miles on my 97 4runner.

265/75 R16 with a full OME suspension lift!!!

 

Tempted to try the KM2's but i think i will stick with the Toyo OC MT's. I also have a set of Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's that have been sitting in my garage for months. They seem like a good tire but i think i'm going to sell them and stick with the tire mentioned above.

 

In addition to the Toyo mt being the best tire. Toyo is wayyyyyyyy better to deal with if you need any warranty. BFG is made by Michelin. Michelin has the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. If you buy them through Les Schwab Tire Center they handle all the warranty problems and do all the maintenance for free. They also give free road hazard but I can't seem to pop one anyway.

 

I have hax the BF A/T on other trucks. I am running the Duratracs E rated now. Great tire no complaints

 

General Grabber AT2's

 

Grabber at2! I've had them on for two weeks and they have been great so far. Spent the weekend playing on dirt and they did fine. Not too noisy on the road either. Can't say for longevity but they have a 60k warranty.

 

federal couragia mts are what i have right now there are ok not to many people have them prob get some duratracs next and do your lift then 285s i bought 265s and regret it horribly now i have to live with it for 30000+ miles

i have a similar question, i have the 2.5inch level currently running 265/70/17 looking to put my stock wheels back on and get a 265/75/16 what would be ideal for me? i do ALOT of on the road driving.. not really any snow around here but i like the occasional dip in the mud

 

If I were you I would get a a/t tire. Something with a good warranty considering you do a lot of on road driving. I'm pretty much in the same boat, I use my truck as my daily driver on the road, but I do outdoor sports where I see a lot of dirt/rock. I went with the general grabber AT2 for all those reasons, good warranty, good on and off road traction, good reviews, and also good price. Don't want to sound like a salesman, I'm sure there are many good a/t tires out there but definitely look into the grabbers.

I run duratracs and KM2s. The duratracs are the best in snow but they wear quicker. I prefer the KM2s for anything off road other than snow. Duratrac is a good winter tire but not as good as something like a blizzak dm-v1 which I also run in winter in a 33" size.

 

I got a set of Cooper STT's on my pickup. Granted they are 35X12.5 but they have been wonderful for all the trails and pipe line Ive ran my truck though. The price was defiantly right, and after 60 000KM ( just over 37 000 miles) still quite a bit of tread left... even after a few little burnouts at bars heh. Id defiantly buy another set.

 

By nearly impossible to balance, I assume your getting them to do it with weights on a balancing machine correct?
